A fence in Buenos Aires: the very rich on one side, the very poor on the other. Sometimes the first employ the latter. Still, the barrier of prejudice and paranoia is much stronger than the fence.
In the urban area of Buenos Aires, the ambitious project 'Nordelta' is emerging. It is a huge, artificially created residential area, with rivers, lakes and woods, surrounded by a very high wire-netting fence and protected by countless watchmen. In the near future this 'barrio cerrado' (engl. gated community) is supposed to house 100 000 people.
Adjacent to 'Nordelta' there is the poor quarter 'Las Tunas'. Some of the poor residents of 'Las Tunas' overcome 'Nordelta's' strict safety measures every day to work for their rich employers. Still, the barrier of prejudice and paranoia is much stronger than the fence.
A look at both sides of the fence reveals the profile of a society that is on the verge of crisis.
