What is it like to be married for 50 years? Are there any secrets that can help make it work?

A filmmaker couple sets out to take an honest look at marriage beyond the honeymoon and the "...happily ever after" cliches. Only upon completion of their tour will they decide whether or not to take the giant step themselves. The research takes the filmmakers to couples in the USA, South Africa, Holland and India that have been married for 50 years or more.

From couples that fought every day of their lives to those that kept quiet through the storms of their relationships the filmmakers search to understand what makes a marriage work. The topics touched upon include sex after marriage, communication skills and the lack thereof, adultery, polygamy and fear of death and divorce. The elderly couples come out with unabashed and surprising points of view. Their fresh opinions and anecdotes are juxtaposed with the filmmakers' own relationship.

The film is laced with humour and layered with irony. You laugh, you cry, you get stretched, you go through a lot in 50 years of love. We can all learn something from this one!
